Spotlight Of The Job
The creative spark has been ignited, and the concept for a new, innovative luminaire has been defined — now it is time to turn this vision into reality.As a Senior Design Engineer, you take ownership of transforming ideas into precise, functional mechanical solutions by developing and designing new luminaire components and assemblies. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you accompany and support the project from the initial sketch through to final release for series production.
You are the driving force behind turning ideas and visions into tangible products, mastering technical challenges along the way and supporting the team with your expertise and experience. From material selection to ensuring manufacturability, you maintain a holistic view and actively advance the mechanical development of our new products. If you enjoy shaping innovation and playing an active role in steering the development process, this position offers the ideal environment to do so.
Responsibilities
- Definition and alignment of product requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Independent development and design of new lighting solutions, considering material selection, commercial aspects, and relevant standards
- Driving and integrating new production technologies into the design
- Commissioning prototypes, organizing testing activities, and creating production documentation through to release for series production
- Leading internal departmental projects to support the strategic development of the organization
Skills & Experience
- Successfully completed technical education (University of Applied Sciences, Technical College, University, etc.) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in new product development (NPD)
- In-depth knowledge of production technologies such as sheet metal processing, plastics manufacturing, surface finishing, or automation technology
- Confident and targeted application of project management techniques and methodologies
- Independent, dynamic, and open-minded personality with the ability to solve complex problems using a creative and flexible approach
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
- Ideally, experience in the development of mechatronic components and systems, including the interaction of mechanics, electronics, and, where applicable, control technologies
