At Weatherford, we are seeking an ambitious and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. In this intermediate-level role, you will perform routine tasks in designing new products and improving existing ones. You will work closely with our experienced professionals, gaining valuable knowledge and skills in the process.
- Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
- Work under the guidance of a leader to ensure timely task completion.
- Apply commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mechanical engineering discipline.
- Resolve routine questions or problems, escalating complex issues to a higher level.
- Perform drafting tasks in Creo or AutoCAD, working with marked-up prints.
- Perform specific engineering tasks within predefined design specifications.
- Design or develop new or existing company products.
- Perform engineering tasks such as stress analysis, material selection, cost estimation, and tolerance studies.
- Continuously gain knowledge on domain skills and relevant technologies.
- Provide regular status/progress reports and plan for timely deliverables.
- Work with optimal productivity, completing projects efficiently and with high quality.
- Perform engineering layouts for fit, form, and function checking.
- Prepare documentation for engineering design files and verify tools/products designed as per API/ASME standards.
- Coordinate with CAD Drafters for creation of drawings.
- Work as a team player, flexible to assigned work.
- Comply with Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Program, Quality Policy, Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
- Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2-5+ years of CAD Engineering and design experience.
- Excellent Engineering knowledge.
Preferred Skills:
- Manufacturing experience.
- Creo and Windchill experience.
- Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Master's degree in CAD/Engineering/Technology.#LI_AG1
