Join Sunwater as Regional Asset Manager for the Northern region where you’ll play a vital role supporting leading and supporting the effective management of diverse range regional assets by ensuring integrity, compliance, and lifecycle optimisation through strategic planning, risk assessment, and strong collaboration with operations and project teams.
This role covers Sunwater’s Northern Region, spanning key operational areas from Mareeba in Far North Queensland through to Mt Isa in the west — a vast geographical footprint supporting agricultural, industrial and urban customers across northern Queensland.
As the Regional Asset Manager for North at Sunwater, you will:
- Provide expert technical support to non-referable asset operations and maintenance teams, ensuring asset data, condition insights, and risk assessments inform decisions and strategies.
- Lead decisions on asset renewal timing and expenditure, balancing risk, performance, and cost, and ensure compliance with Sunwater policies.
- Represent the asset owner in the major development projects and support regional operations and project delivery teams by providing expertise to guide PCM projects through the P3MF process
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Asset Management Plans and Asset Class Plans to support strategic objectives and lifecycle needs.
- Lead a team of Senior Asset Officers and Asset Engineers, driving performance, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a talented commercially savvy individual with a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in an asset management leadership position, ideally from operational or planning background. You will hold tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline and preferably hold RPEQ.
You Will Also Bring:
- Demonstrated experience working with asset management systems and tools.
- Proven experience leading a team of Asset Officers and Planning Engineers and the ability to travel extensively in region
- Excellent communication skills with a knack of building relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.
