Position Summary
This position is a component of the Electrical and Instrumentation Division of the company and reports directly to the Crew Foreman. Incumbent will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a construction environment. Continually participate in ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit and personal job mastery. All jobs shall be conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and oversee project scope and deliverables while managing the constraints.
- Create clear and attainable project objectives and directly oversee project quality.
- Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to contractual agreements and within budget.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
- Ensure the implementation, communication, and endorsement of the health and safety policy.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
- Always demonstrate a high personal example of health and safety standards and in all places.
- Be familiar with the provisions of the OSHA and MSHA Health and Safety Acts, federal and state regulations as they apply to work areas under your control.
- Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
- Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by the company management.
- Mentor Apprentices from beginning to end of assignment to ensure quality work and facilitate learning.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and testing equipment to properly complete a job.
- Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems.
- Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Able to provide your own hand tools.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Able to guide and direct an apprentice from beginning to end of a job.
- Competent documentation skills.
- Able to work in both commercial and industrial environments.
- Must display the following characteristics: Honest, Professional, Competent, Organized, Attention to Detail, Dependable, Thorough, Team Oriented, Safety Conscious and have a Strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively (i.e. reading, writing, speaking) in the English Language
- Valid Driver's License with safe driving record
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED or higher level; Electrical schooling preferred.
- Four (4) years electrical experience in a construction environment.
- Electrical Journeyman's license for state of work
