As the Operations Coordinator, you will serve as the primary on-site operational lead, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of camp facilities, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and boats. This is an active vacancy, not a future hiring pool, and the successful candidate will make an immediate and meaningful impact by supporting daily camp operations, emergency response, and infrastructure readiness—helping ensure Camp Stephens remains a place where individuals and communities continue to Shine On.

HOW you’ll create Moments that Matter:

You will coordinate and oversee daily camp operations, including facilities, grounds, equipment, vehicles, boats, and logistics, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with operational standards. You will provide day-to-day direction and coaching to operations staff and volunteers, support pre-season setup and in-season readiness, and act as an on-site lead during incidents and emergencies. You will also manage operational records, inspections, compliance documentation, and end-of-season reporting to support risk management, asset care, and long-term sustainability.

You’Ll Bring:

  • Experience in operations, facilities, maintenance, or camp/site coordination, with the ability to lead teams in a dynamic, remote environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety, inclusion, and operational excellence, aligned with the Y’s mission and values.
  • Required Certifications: Standard First Aid with CPR-C, Pleasure Craft Operator Card, Canadian Camping Association Marine Module (CCA),Small Water Systems, Valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver’s License
