As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking two motivated Conveyancing Legal Assistants to join our Melbourne office.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to become valued members of our property team. The Conveyancing Legal Assistant will provide high-level administrative and practical support to our legal team.
The role requires a solid understanding of conveyancing processes, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage sale and purchase matters efficiently and accurately. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence, including Contracts of Sale and Section 32 Statements
- Liaising with clients in person, by telephone, and via email
- Managing vendor and purchaser files from commencement through to settlement
- Communicating with external stakeholders including law firms, real estate agents, banks, brokers, financial institutions, councils, and authorities
- Conducting legal research and reviewing property searches
- Preparing for and attending settlements, including use of Duties Online and PEXA
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and databases
- Monitoring critical dates and proactively following up outstanding matters
- Providing general administrative support to Conveyancers and assisting other departments as required
- Reception Relief
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant legal software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities
