Sales Coordinator/Event Manager, Victoria Racing Club

The opportunity

Delaware North Australia is hiring a full-time Sales Coordinator/Event Manager to join our team at Victoria Racing Club (VRC) as part of our new partnership, where Delaware North will support year-round hospitality. You'll deliver high-quality non-race day events at Flemington Racecourse. This hands-on role manages events from planning through to on-site delivery, ensuring seamless execution, strong client relationships and operational excellence.

What you will do?

• Manage end-to-end delivery of conferences, weddings, gala dinners, exhibitions and corporate events
• Coordinate all logistics including room setups, AV, catering, equipment, signage and access
• Prepare event documentation: run sheets, floor plans, schedules and checklists
• Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, suppliers and internal teams
• Lead bump-in, live event delivery and bump-out
• Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
• Ensure all events meet safety, compliance and venue requirements
• Manage post-event administration and reconciliation

More about you

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in event management within a premium or large-scale environment
• Qualification in Event Management, Hospitality or a related field (desired)
• EBMS experience essential
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong stakeholder and supplier management experience
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Confident communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments
