Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer / SQL Database Developer with strong experience in MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and cloud migration projects. The ideal candidate will lead the migration of transactional databases from on-premises SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring seamless integration and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement migration strategies for SQL Server databases to GCP instances.
- Develop and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes and SSRS reports for reporting needs.
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues during and after migration.
- Collaborate with cloud architects to configure GCP services (Cloud SQL, BigQuery, GCS, etc.).
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout the migration process.
- Document migration steps, configurations, and best practices for future reference.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience with SSIS (ETL workflows) and SSRS (report development).
- Proven experience in database migration projects to GCP or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with GCP data services (Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for database deployments.
- Exposure to Python or PowerShell for automation.
- GCP certification is a plus.
