CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The role holder is responsible for providing support to the Head of Risk and Compliance. This document is intended to clarify core, shared expectations of Risk and Compliance to existing staff and newcomers, to key stakeholders such line managers, technical advisors, regional leads, and those who rely on the risk/compliance/control/fraud work they do.
The role is a critical 2nd line of control for the organisation and requires independent and objective staff. The role should therefore report into the Head of Risk and Compliance. The Head of Risk and Compliance will provide functional coaching/feedback and development to the individual and should be involved in their recruitment/ talent management/ objective setting processes.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

1. RISK IDENFICATION & ASSESSMENT –
Support the organisation’s Risk and Compliance Director in risk identification and assessment processes. Individual will:
· Be aware of SCI Risk Framework tools and techniques (including PART/SCARF/ Datix).
· Provide insight support to award risk assessments.
· Support in Facilitate risk management processes.
2. RISK PREVENTION/ CONTROL & MITAGATION -
Provide support to ensure risk prevention measures are fit-for-purpose.
· Provide support on internal control/ mitigation design for new projects or processes
· Provide support for risk prevention expertise to major humanitarian incidents
3. CONTROL & MITIGATION TESTING COMPLIANCE -
Provide compliance checks/ audit reviews to provide assurance on key risk management controls’
· Support in implement the annual workplan of compliance / spot checks/audit reviews on key Management controls E.g. field office audits, vetting spot checks
· Review/attend key control meetings/ process and ensure that they are working & provide specialist input E.g. attending kick off meeting
4. INCIDENT RESPONSE/ INVESTIGATIONS (FRAUD/ MULTIFACETED) -
Provide independent reporting of risk, incidents & investigations
· Support in reporting of risk versus appetite and management of escalations as appropriate
· Report incidents in Datix that affect ability of an organisation to hit its objectives
· Support in fraud investigations
· Facilitate Fraud training
- Child Safeguarding
· Ensure that all child and adult safeguarding measures are implemented and concerns are reported effectively in line with the policy.
· Conduct regular visits to project sites of SCI and partners to ensure that SG reporting system is working, and beneficiaries know how to report SG cases.
· Deliver Awareness / Capacity building training on Safeguarding to Partners.
· Conduct/Coordinate CSG trainings to SCI Egypt country office visitors prior to their engagement with children.
· Ensure safeguarding minimum standards embedded into humanitarian response plan.
· Support Staff safeguarding focal point in conducting staff safeguarding investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Internal Control, Development, and/or related field;
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
· Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within both the commercial and/or NGO sectors.
· A strong interest in international development/humanitarian work
· A programme experience, with strong analytical skills is preferable
· High Fluency in writing and presentation skills in English; fluency in Arabic is highly desired.
· Excellent business partnering and relationship building skills
· Proven ability to have a highly strategic focus, whilst dealing competently with operational matters
· Strong personal organisational and self-management skills with an ability work in teams and motivate others
· Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
· Willing to travel to support members directly or to relevant events as required.

The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties where reasonable in view of their level of skills and experience.
The post also requires traveling to field offices.
