Screen Queensland.com

Office

Teneriffe, Queensland 4005, Australia

Part Time

Screen Queensland is currently seeking an administrative superstar to join our Legal team on a part-time basis (flexible, up to 29 hours per week) for an initial 12-month contract. If you are a proactive, organised, and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you!

What you’ll do:

Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will play a pivotal role in providing administrative, contract document and matter tracking assistance, ensuring our legal operations run smoothly.

As the Legal Assistant, you will administer procedures and systems to streamline and focus the team’s workflow. You'll be the bridge between our team and external stakeholders, corresponding with funding applicants, government departments, and other key players in a clear and professional manner, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the legal team, including document filing, contract execution procedures, invoicing, credit card reconciliation, and travel arrangements.
  • Preparing initial drafts of basic legal correspondence and template contract documents, showcasing your attention to detail and precision.
  • Conducting basic legal research as required, assisting the team in gathering essential information for legal matters and staying ahead of the curve.
  • Database management (including SharePoint, SmartyGrants and Trello).
  • Assisting with the broader Screen Queensland team office administration as required

What you’ll bring:

You will have the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, a proactive approach to your work, exceptional attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. Whilst prior administrative experience in a legal setting is highly regarded, it is not essential. This position may be well suited to an experienced administrator or a law student seeking part-time work while completing their studies.

Supplementing this, you will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office programs and the ability to pick up new systems as required (prior experience with SmartyGrants and Trello will be highly regarded).
  • Well-developed time management skills and ability to manage and prioritise competing demands
  • Demonstrated skills in proofing and drafting basic legal correspondence and template contract documents, together with basic research skills as required.

What we offer:

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Dog friendly office – bring your pup to work!
  • Central Teneriffe location, 200m from the City Cat terminal
  • Opportunity to attend exclusive screen events and Queensland screen premieres
