Under direction of the Environmental Services Director, supervises and coordinates safety duties for the facility and residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observes facility for general safety. Monitors safety equipment, and procedures per safety compliance schedule. (See list of job duties.)
- Keeps a current SDS notebook of all chemicals used at Bethany Home.
- Operates appropriate equipment to perform safety compliance duties.
- Conducts Hazcom and OSHA training for all new employees and students in the facility. Talks with contractors regarding safety while working for the facility.
- Coordinates and maintains, change analysis, job safety analysis and safety ambassador programs.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with management staff, employees, residents, and the general public.
- Updates lock out/ tag out as needed.
- Assist in accident investigations and any needed retraining.
- Conduct monthly safety committee meetings. Works with the committee to find new ways to make Bethany Home a safer environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Maintains records of all training.
- Conducts monthly fire drills with assistance of fire safety committee.
- Attends or conducts staff and employee meetings/in-service as required.
- Performs other related assigned duties.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent; related on the job experience or training.
CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE:
OSHA certification preferred.
