JOB OVERVIEW

The Software Architect - Platform Team role is critical to enabling rapid, scalable delivery across Equity Trust's products. Focuses on designing and implementing reusable architectural patterns, establishing technical standards, and accelerating development velocity for delivery teams building on Salesforce and modern web technologies.

 

Provides hands-on technical leadership, creating reference implementations and architectural guidance that delivery teams leverage to build consistent, high-quality solutions. The primary focus is enabling teams to move faster through well-designed platform capabilities, integration patterns, and frontend frameworks while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

 

Works closely with the Platform Team Manager, CTO, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Requires deep expertise in Salesforce, React, API design, and event-driven architectures, combined with the ability to mentor developers and drive architectural decisions that balance innovation with pragmatic business value.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Designs and implements reusable architecture patterns for API integration, UI frameworks, and data synchronization between Salesforce and supporting systems.
  • Establishes technical standards and best practices for event-driven architecture leveraging Kafka and CDC patterns
  • Defines React component libraries and UI architecture standards for both Salesforce (LWC) and external web applications
  • Creates and maintains architectural documentation, reference implementations, and design patterns that delivery teams leverage.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions for platform capabilities including API gateways, developer portals, and integration patterns
  • Supports delivery teams by providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and technical consultation.
  • Develops reusable integration patterns and APIs that accelerate downstream development
  • Builds proof-of-concepts and reference implementations for new technical capabilities.
  • Partners with Data Engineering team on architectures for data sharing among Salesforce, AWS, and core Trust Accounting Systems.
  • Establishes React development standards and reusable component patterns for portal and web applications.
  • Collaborates with CTO and Platform Team Manager to define technical roadmap and platform evolution.
  • Mentors engineers on architectural principles, design patterns, and modern frontend development best practices.
  • Drives technical discussions and architectural decisions across teams.
  • Balances innovation with pragmatic solutions that deliver business value
  • Designs reusable React component frameworks for use within Salesforce and external applications.
  • Architects React-based portal and web applications for external client and partner experiences.
  • Designs multi-tenant B2B portal capabilities with embedded analytics.
  • Implements Salesforce DevOps practices and deployment automation for both platform and frontend applications.
  • Optimizes platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Ensures architectural decisions align with enterprise architecture standards and financial services regulatory requirements.
  • Translates complex technical concepts into clear explanations for diverse technical and business audiences.
  • Participates in architecture governance processes and contributes to enterprise-wide technical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive software architecture and design experience
  • Significant hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, Experience Cloud
  • Substantial React development experience with modern frontend architectures
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong communication, analytical, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial services processes and solutions

 

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (preferred)
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer (preferred)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (preferred)

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations
  • Strong proficiency with React, including hooks, state management, and component architecture
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Vite, pnpm/yarn, TypeScript)
  • Deep understanding of API design patterns (REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures)
  • Experience with Kafka, CDC patterns, or similar event streaming technologies
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, security patterns, and performance optimization
  • Experience with Java or .NET backend systems
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
  • Microservices architecture and API management platforms
  • Mobile-first and responsive design principles
  • Familiarity with commercial and open-source solutions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
