The pay for this position is $77,583-$89,220 annually.

Summary
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you support the preparation and oversight of month-end close activities, including journal entries, cost allocations, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and contracts and grants cost analysis. You also ensurescompliance with funding source requirements and maintains accurate, up-to-date accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and government contract regulations.
Primary Duties
- Prepare and/or review accruals and adjusting journal entries to support timely, accurate month-end close; identify, reconcile, and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Prepare month-end general ledger transactions to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare month-end cost allocation schedules and entries to appropriately distribute shared costs.
- Responsible for year-end close activities and external audits; maintain general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Perform monthly financial and operational analyses, including payroll, employee benefits, insurance, and other key expense areas.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and ad hoc operational reports, as well as grants and donation reporting and revenue analysis.
- Conduct account analyses and review monthly income statement variances between actual and budgeted results to ensure accurate posting and reporting.
- Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including monitoring accounts, recording additions and depreciation, and reconciling fixed asset balances.
- Support audit- and tax-related activities as needed.
- Other duties and ad-hoc projects as needed.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with five (5) or more years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong ability to communicate ideas, information, and perspectives clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including the preparation of complex Excel spreadsheets; routine word processing; and NetSuite ERP general ledger experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated ability to make informed accounting-related adjustments / decisions.

- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier, when required by job duties.
