When you join O’Brien®, you join a team driven by values, collaboration, and a genuine focus on helping our people succeed.
This role will be offered on an initial 24-month fixed term basis.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Architect who can design, shape, and guide the evolution of the O’Brien® enterprise data ecosystem. If you love turning complex business needs into elegant, scalable data solutions—and want to be part of a global group (Belron®)—this may be your next great career move.
As the Data Architect, you’ll lead the design and governance of O'Brien’s enterprise data architecture, ensuring our data environments are secure, scalable, accessible, and built for the future. You will collaborate across teams and influence data strategy at a national and global level.
What You’ll Be Doing
Data Architecture & Design
Develop and maintain enterprisewide data architecture standards, models, and frameworks.
Lead adoption of the group’s Enterprise Logical Data Model.
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for operational and analytical workloads.
Provide architecture governance for our modern data estate—including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, and presentation layers.
Ensure all solutions align with business strategy and the Belron® global technology roadmap.
Data Platform & Integration
Design and oversee data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and system integrations.
Optimise ingestion, processing, and storage across cloud and onprem environments.
Implement best practices for data security, lineage, metadata, and governance.
Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and architectural improvements.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with technical and business teams to understand data requirements.
Work closely with IT leadership to support digital transformation and analytics initiatives.
Provide architectural guidance to data engineering, BI and analytics teams.
Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and external partners.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and optimise data flow performance, storage, and compute costs.
Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and industry trends.
Lead modernisation efforts for legacy platforms and enable new data capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
At O’Brien® we are Caring, Collaborative, Genuine and Driven. We call this our DNA, and it’s what we look when growing our teams. If you fit the DNA, you’ll fit here. In conjunction we are needing some with:

Experience designing data lakes, data warehouses, or lakehouse architectures.
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and integration frameworks.
Strong knowledge of data governance, MDM, data quality, and metadata management.
Exceptional communication skills—able to translate complex concepts into business-friendly language.
