Job Description
The Griffith Asia Institute is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow focusing on green energy finance and green energy trade with the aim to produce high-impact research and policy-relevant outputs. A as a research fellow you will:
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to research projects and publications through, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Prepare research publications, reports, and presentations.
- Translation of research findings into accessible policy notes and briefs for government, industry and wider public.
- Supervise and support junior researchers and students.
- Actively contribute to the academic life of the Institute work effectively with stakeholders.
- Access and analyse primary source materials and data from Chinese government agencies, research institutions and companies.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, ethical research practices, and workplace health and safety standards.
This is a fixed term (12 months), part time (0.8 FTE) position primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD in in a relevant discipline, such as Economics or Finance, awarded no more than three years prior to the application closing date. (Candidates who have submitted their thesis but have not yet been conferred are encouraged to apply).
- Demonstrated research experience in a relevant field with an emerging track record of public and policy-relevant publications.
- Excellent skills in trade and investment data analysis, with proven experience in using international databases (e.g., IMF, World Bank, UNCTAD, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to write clear, concise policy notes and academic papers.
- Proficiency in Chinese language (reading and writing).
- In depth knowledge of green energy finance and trade policy, particularly in the Asian context.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate as part of a research team.
