SSAI seeks a Systems Engineer IV (Project Manager) to support an Earth Science contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The candidate will provide senior-level project management leadership supporting the investigation, development, integration, testing, and operational transition of advanced land data assimilation and hydrological modeling capabilities within the Land Information System (LIS). The role includes managing inter-agency agreements and ensuring project execution, documentation, and reporting align with project scientist direction and program needs.
Key Responsibilities
The contractor will provide project management and documentation support for research areas associated with LIS. Specific tasks may include any of the following, as needed by the project scientist:
- Development and review of project budgets, and delivery of monthly budget status reports
- Draft and review of project reports and reviews
- Management and tracking of inter-agency agreements, including coordination of required documentation and status reporting
- Other project-related duties, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, systems engineering, earth science, or related field) and 10 years’ experience supporting technical programs/projects; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management for complex technical, scientific, or software/modeling efforts, including planning, execution, and coordination
- Experience developing and managing project budgets, producing monthly budget status reports, and supporting cost tracking/reporting
- Experience drafting, coordinating, and reviewing technical/project reports and supporting project reviews
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders (e.g., government, academic, and contractor teams) and managing action items to closure
- Demonstrated experience managing inter-agency agreements and associated project documentation, status, and deliverables tracking
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting LIS or similar Earth system modeling and data assimilation frameworks
- Familiarity with land surface and hydrological modeling efforts from a program/project coordination perspective
- Experience supporting projects in a NASA/GSFC Earth Science environment

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
