Description
The ERP Systems analyst identifies business problems and analyzes and documents business requirements for the supported business functions. They understand the customer’s business and manages the relationships with key customers. The senior business analyst participates in and leads components of system delivery and assures user acceptance. The ERP systems analyst also identifies and investigates operational needs and opportunities, contributing to the implementation of technology improvements.
Role and Responsibilities
· Analyzes and documents business requirements for the business area(s) of responsibility with a core
focus on Finance and Sales
· Work with Supply Chain on EDI standards with 3PLs and work with IT resources on process
improvements and issue resolution
· Onboard new EDI Trading Partners, including but not limited to setup, validation, process definition,
and documentation
· Setup EDI Integrations and alerts to sales, finance and supply chain
· Responsible for delivery of IT projects
· Assures project and project teams follow company and departmental policies, procedures and
standards, including SDLC and Change control
· Provides business consulting support to customers
· Analyzes, resolves and documents system changes needed as a result of defects, enhancements,
incidents, missing requirements or other root causes
· Proactively identifies and assists in prioritizing opportunities to streamline business and system
processes
· Shares industry standards/trends with customers and peers within the area of responsibility
· Identifies issues and leads resolution efforts. Escalates issues appropriately
· Develops and assists in the presentation of business cases and system roadmaps
· Develops preliminary project budgets. Assists in monitoring and reporting on projects
· Manages day-to-day interactions with vendors. Work closely with vendors to complete required
tasks
· Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial
personal responsibility and autonomy. Plans own work to meet given objectives and processes
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science or equivalent experience
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT project management/business analysis in a manufacturing or distribution company
· Experience with T-SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
· Minimum 5 years of experience working with Manufacturing ERP’s – preferably Tier 2 (Syspro, Dynamics, QAD, Epicor)
· Experience with EDI trading partner setup and maintenance · Familiarity with ANSI X12 EDI standards and the 850/855/856/810 document types.
· Familiarity with SPS Commerce as an EDI VAN is preferred · Experience working and integrating multiple 3PL warehouses into ERP and WMS
· Experience with systems solution delivery, systems support, configuration, or development
· Experience managing customer relationships at various organizational levels
· Experience with formal SDLC methodology desired, as well as with system validation processes
· Experience developing or managing Business Intelligence applications, SSIS/SQL Server is a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
Key Competencies
· Ability to engage effectively with business leaders, using a customer centric approach, and discuss challenges in manufacturing, warehouse management and finance and define detailed project and system requirements
· Experience with systems solution delivery, systems support, configuration, or development, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning and Supply Chain Execution Systems
· Data analysis skills using Excel pivot and basic SQL queries
· Demonstrated competence with a Manufacturing ERP, preferably a Tier 2 such as Syspro, Dynamics AX/SL/NV, QAD, Epicor
· Proven program and project management skills
· Possess strong problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills Other Duties/Responsibilities
· Technical support/Help Desk and carry out tasks defined in the Help Ticket Tracking system
· Remains current on advances in technology.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires the team member to:
· Sit for an extended period of time at a computer.
· Stand and walk through the production floor and endure cold temperatures (38 degrees)
· Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
