We have an exciting Full-Time Night Auditor position at the award-winning Liberty Station Hotels.  This position is for a dual brand complex, a Courtyard Marriott and a Homewood Suites Hilton.  The schedule is 2 days at each hotel (4 days per week), 10:30PM – 6:30AM.  The initial training will require several weeks of day time availability (shifts between 6AM – 11PM). A 5th shift is possible should anyone qualified desire a 5 day work-week.

The best candidates for consideration will have at least 1 year hotel front desk experience and have worked with either Fosse (Marriott operating system) and/or PEP (Hilton's).  We understand night audit is a unique shift, so it’s important that applicants are comfortable working on their own and overnight. Previous overnight work history is important.  

Each associate is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing.

Position Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for running all overnight front desk and hotel operations while completing end-of-day audit procedures. This role blends guest service, safety-minded hotel oversight, and accounting accuracy. You’ll deliver strong hospitality, resolve overnight guest needs, and ensure the business date rolls correctly with complete and accurate reporting.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Run all overnight duties at the Front Desk and support hotel operations after-hours
  • Complete Night Audit procedures in the property system (e.g., FOSSE, where applicable)
  • Deliver consistent “guest-first” service and take ownership of guest problems through resolution
  • Maintain a professional appearance, communication style, and confidentiality at all times
  • Ensure smooth handoff to the next shift with clear logs and notes

  • Speak in a warm, friendly, and courteous manner

Key Responsibilities

Night Audit & Financial Controls

  • Run end-of-day processes: post charges, balance the day, and roll the business date
  • Verify room rates, taxes, and postings; resolve discrepancies and document corrections
  • Process all payment types (cash, credit/debit, direct bill where applicable)
  • Complete adjustment/correction entries per policy and document appropriately
  • Balance and secure cash, receipts, and the bank according to accounting procedures
  • Prepare, print, and distribute required nightly reports (audit pack, variances, arrivals/departures, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate audit notes and communicate exceptions for follow-up

Front Desk & Overnight Operations

  • Complete check-ins/check-outs and support late arrivals/early departures
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally; handle wake-up calls and messages
  • Resolve guest requests and complaints; document and escalate as appropriate
  • Monitor lobby activity and maintain a safe, calm environment overnight
  • Maintain front desk and lobby readiness: clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready
  • Stock and maintain the lobby Market (as assigned)
  • Ensure front desk equipment is working; report failures immediately
  • Stay familiar with the day-to-day selling strategy, availability, promotions, and loyalty/program information

Safety, Security, and Property Oversight

  • Follow all safety and security procedures; report incidents, hazards, and suspicious activity
  • Protect guest privacy and company assets (keys, cash, reports, passwords, equipment)
  • Complete required logs and overnight checklists (property walks, key control, safety checks) as assigned

Communication & Handover

  • Keep accurate shift logs and pass on all important information to the next shift/supervisor
  • Communicate maintenance, housekeeping, and guest service issues clearly for follow-up

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience required; hotel front desk experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with numbers, cash handling, and balancing
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (Lockout/Tagout, JSAs), safety information (SDS/MSDS), operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to keep logs and communicate effectively with guests and associates
  • Ability to work independently overnight and make good decisions within policy

Scheduling Expectations

The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must understand that schedules may change based on business needs and weather. Hours may vary week to week (some weeks less than 40, some more than 40 as needed). Associates are expected to carry out reasonable requests by management that they are capable of performing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during the shift
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift/move items up to 25 lbs (and more with assistance as applicable)
  • Ability to work overnight in a front desk/lobby environment with varying noise levels
