About the Team

Like every team at OpenAI, the Marketing team contributes to our broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. With that aim in mind, we are responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI’s products and platform amongst our core audiences. We take a data-driven approach to understand our customers' needs and challenges, ensuring that their voices are reflected in product development and messaging. We then partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Comms, and Design teams to create a cohesive customer experience across all our channels. Our focus extends beyond just promoting product features; we aim to provide valuable insights and resources that help our users make the most out of AI technologies.

About the role

ChatGPT is the fastest growing consumer product in history, outpacing the adoption curves of the internet, mobile phones, and social platforms. We’re looking for a creative, insight-driven marketer to help shape how the world talks about and experiences what we build next.

You’ll report to the Product Marketing Lead for ChatGPT and partner closely with brand, creative, comms, product, design and research teams. Your job is to find the human truth inside the technology, then bring it to life through bold, integrated campaigns across paid, in-product, lifecycle, organic and new things you dream up.

In this role, you will:

  • Start with an objective and turn it into a sharp, insights-driven go-to-market strategy.

  • Go deep on the product: understand what ChatGPT can do today, where it’s going, and what makes it truly different and special – and define a narrative for how it shows up in people’s lives.

  • Work with research and strategy partners to uncover the human and cultural insights that unlock growth.

  • Write marketing and creative briefs that don’t just describe what to make – they inspire ideas people want to build.

  • Shape integrated campaigns across channels (brand, paid, organic, lifecycle, in-product) that drive real changes in awareness, understanding, and behavior.

  • Partner with designers, writers, and creative teams to push the work from great to impactful.

  • Use product data and user feedback to learn what’s working, what’s not, and where the next opportunity is – then evolve the strategy.

You might be a great fit if you…

  • Are a creative at heart. You inspire people to do their best work, you know great ideas when you see them, and how to push teams toward braver, sharper communication. You approach every task – whether it's a brief, a deck or written feedback – as an opportunity to apply your craft.

  • Can take something complex and make it feel simple, human, and emotionally clear.

  • Don’t necessarily have a tech background, but have experience taking a product, finding what makes it magical, and telling a brand story around it.

  • Think in systems: you naturally connect product, brand, channels, and user experience into one cohesive story.

  • Have a track record of building campaigns or launches that didn’t just ship – they changed how people saw or used a product.

  • Are comfortable working across disciplines (product, research, brand, creative, growth) and turning many perspectives into one strong point of view.

  • Have 10+ years of experience in consumer, product, or brand-driven marketing in tech, entertainment, or a beloved consumer product.
