Lerners is seeking a Legal Assistant to support Wills and Estates in the London, Ontario office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar position. This is a Hybrid position and requires a minimum of three days in office or as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answering the telephone, scheduling calls and ongoing client communications.
- Requesting conflict searches, opening and closing files.
- Scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and coordinating client meetings.
- Preparing and processing documents for client meetings and ongoing file management.
- Drafting, formatting and proofreading estate planning documents including wills, power of attorney, etc.
- Maintaining accounts receivable, preparing/sending invoices, coordinating accounting and reporting letters.
- Drafting letters for client matters
- Maintaining an effective BF system.
- Transcribing dictation.
- Completing registrations and administrative support for various events, conferences, or other, and organizing group meetings and creating agenda, minutes
- Other duties related to the administration of the practice and assisting the estates clerk.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Legal Assistant or equivalent education/experience.
- Strong understanding of Ontario estate law procedures and processes preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
- A strong commitment to high quality client service.
- Possess and professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and individually.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with technology and working in a remote/ hybrid environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software.
- Proficiency with legal software.

Salary:
Target Hiring Range: $40,916.63 - $51,145.79
Commensurate with skill level, years of experience, and aligned with internal and market equity.
