Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Days (8:00am-4:00pm)
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager – Facilities, Serves as the primary liaison between Project Teams and Facilities Operations, ensuring seamless coordination of all facility-related components within organizational projects. This role provides technical expertise and strategic oversight across multiple facility domains to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant outcomes.

Beyond project coordination and support, the position integrates new initiatives into existing operations to maintain continuity of critical services. By aligning technical requirements with operational goals, the Senior Project Manager minimizes disruptions and optimizes facility performance.

Requires advanced project management skills and deep knowledge of facilities operations and maintenance.

The responsibilities include:

  • Support Coordination: Oversee all support activities for Project and Facilities Operations teams, including resource planning, technical assistance, and logistics.
  • Engagement Protocols: Define interaction guidelines between Project and Facilities Operations teams, including touchpoints, approval workflows, and communication channels.
  • Operational Input: Provide operational expertise during design and project planning phases.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensure objectives are aligned across all stakeholders to enable seamless transitions and successful project delivery. Maintain transparent communication with internal teams and external partners.
  • Resource Planning: Develop and implement resource plans that optimize personnel, equipment, and financial allocation to meet project milestones and operational priorities.
  • Integration Planning: Create and execute plans to integrate new projects into existing operational systems, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Establish and maintain a project-specific Risk Register detailing risks, impact assessments, mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and assigned risk owners.
  • Schedule Integration: Incorporate project timelines into facilities work plans to synchronize activities and minimize operational conflicts.
  • Commissioning Oversight: Coordinate Facilities Operations staff participation in commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to performance standards, documentation, training, and warranty requirements.
  • Asset Validation: Confirm accurate asset creation in CMMS (Archibus), including metadata, preventive maintenance schedules, and spare parts.
  • Financial Analysis: Assess and communicate operational financial impacts of projects to relevant teams.
  • Post-Project Review: Document issues, prepare Lessons Learned reports, and facilitate formal review sessions with all stakeholders.
  • Meeting Management: Develop and maintain a structured plan for regular cross-functional meetings involving Facilities Operations, Project teams, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering / Facilities Management / a related field OR Class 1 (Chief Engineer) certificate of competency (COC) OR Class 1 Stationary Engineer
  • Certification of Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certification of Risk Management Professional (RMP) - Preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of expertise in facilities operations, maintenance, and project coordination, including successful delivery of equipment renewal initiatives.
  • 3 – 5 years of leadership experience in project management, driving complex projects from planning through execution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, safety compliance, commissioning processes, and technical codes within healthcare environments.
  • Proficient in project management tools and asset management systems, ensuring efficient resource allocation and workflow optimization.
  • Proven track record in leadership, managing facilities operations teams and overseeing project management functions to achieve organizational goals.
