About the Role

 

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and goals. This role involves providing comprehensive technical support to end users, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors regarding the application of Tate’s products in both new construction and retrofit Data Center environments. The Engineering Manager also plays a key role in guiding the implementation of best practices aimed at maximizing energy efficiency and overall system effectiveness.

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Lead and coordinate various engineering functions, including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development for both existing and new product lines.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, customers, and engineering teams to ensure project specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly defined and met.
  • Serve as project manager for multiple initiatives, including creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaboration sessions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant specifications and schedules.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standards across engineering functions.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors as required to support project goals and timelines.
  • Remain current on emerging trends, technologies, materials, and best practices, applying new knowledge to enhance product lines and improve production efficiency.
  • Assist in product testing and evaluation, including the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software tools.
  • Review construction specifications and provide appropriate product recommendations to meet unique project requirements.
  • Provide application engineering support for existing and future products related to the Mission Critical/Data Center space, including structural containment solutions.
  • contribute to the development of technical whitepapers that promote the use and benefits of raised access flooring and associated systems.
  • Monitor evolving trends in Data Center design to help guide Research and Development efforts for new product development.
  • Support quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance efforts by maintaining awareness of individual responsibilities and reporting any concerns or issues to the appropriate personnel.

What You Will Bring

 

  • A four-year degree in Engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical infrastructure surveys and measurement techniques is considered a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of server technology and related hardware is required.
  • General knowledge of cooling technologies and strategies for conditioning Data Center environments is essential.
  • Experience with energy audits and cooling optimization is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and operational efficiency.

  • Pay range: $110,000 USD to $135,000 USD. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
