Overview
The Project Manager will lead the full lifecycle of a Workday Finance ERP implementation for the SmartestEnergy US operations, along with the retirement of the legacy platform. This PM will oversee planning, execution, and delivery across Accounting, Procurement, FP&A, and IT and ensure the program meets business objectives, stays on schedule, and drives long-term adoption of Workday’s financial capabilities.
This is a 1-Year, Full-time Temporary Position (Benefits Eligible)
In this role, you will be involved with the following:
Lead the end-to-end Workday Finance implementation including planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
Develop and manage detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Coordinate cross functional teams across Finance, Procurement, IT, HR, and external Workday partners.
Facilitate requirements gathering and ensure business needs are accurately translated into Workday configuration.
Possess a deep understanding of Workday’s configuration options and energy transaction lifecycles such as Procure to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report.
Oversee Workday Finance modules such as Financial Accounting, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts, Projects, Procurement, Expenses, and Reporting.
Manage vendor and implementation partner relationships to ensure quality delivery and alignment with project goals.
Lead data migration activities including mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover planning.
Drive testing cycles including unit testing, end-to-end testing, UAT, and regression testing.
Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies and implement mitigation strategies.
Lead change management efforts including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
Provide executive level reporting to sponsors and steering committees.
Support post-go-live stabilization and transition to operational support teams.
To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:
7+ years of project management experience leading ERP or enterprise technology programs.
Direct experience implementing the Workday Financials module. Minimum of two full lifecycle engagements implementing Financial Accounting/Foundation Data Model (FDM) with the Workday platform
Strong understanding of Workday’s deployment methodology and SaaS ERP best practices.
Experience managing cross functional finance and IT teams in complex environments.
Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across technical and nontechnical groups.
Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts for large‑scale technology programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct Workday Project management experience in the following areas: Financial Accounting (IAS), FDM & Core Financials
Workday Finance certification or equivalent hands-on configuration experience.
Background in energy accounting, procurement, or financial operations.
Experience with Workday integrations including EIB, Studio, or Prism Analytics.
PMP, Agile, or Prosci certification.
Process-Focused certifications. (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
