We are hiring a DevOps Engineer
Hybrid working model - Novi Sad or Belgrade office
Role Description:
We are looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer to support and enhance our cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD ecosystem for financial trading applications. The role centers around managing and improving cloud environments (primarily AWS), container orchestration with Kubernetes and OpenShift, automation via Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, BitBucket, or similar tools. You will contribute to building reliable, scalable, and high performing platforms by working with development, infrastructure, and security teams. The level of autonomy and ownership will increase based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Work within AWS to deploy, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure (Azure knowledge is a plus)
Manage and support Linux and Windows-based systems
Maintain and improve Kubernetes clusters and Helm deployments; deploy and scale containerized applications in OpenShift (OKD/OCP)
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and BitBucket
Customize pipelines to fit project requirements, ensuring compliance with established policies
Integrate Nexus Repository Manager for artifact storage
Automate container builds using Docker
Work with engineering and DevOps team to report gaps, suggest improvements, and align on best practices
Develop and maintain automation and configuration using Ansible
Contribute to infrastructure automation and templating; experience with Terraform is an advantage
Set up and maintain monitoring and observability systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk Observability, ELK stack)
Investigate incidents, analyze system metrics, troubleshoot and improve system performance, reliability, and stability
Enforce security standards, integrating SAST/DAST scanning tools (Veracode, Trivy, Syft)
Manage secrets and credentials in HashiCorp Vault, or similar tools
Support and improve integrations with Cloudflare and MongoDB
Collaborate with development teams on application deployment, performance tuning, and best practices for cloud-native services
Work with cross-functional teams (Dev, Infrastructure, Security) to ensure seamless operations
Participate in operational support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Identify and resolve project-specific bottlenecks in build, test, and deployment processes
Optimize OpenShift resource usage for cost efficiency and performance, including implementing auto-scaling and self-healing for high availability
Your Profile:
Must Have Skills:
Hands-on experience with AWS
Strong knowledge of Linux
Proven experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift (OKD/OCP), and Helm
Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, BitBucket, Maven, and Gradle
Experience with Ansible for automation
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK stack)
Ability to own complex infrastructure components end-to-end
Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and production-grade deployments
Strong troubleshooting experience across distributed systems
Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker and Podman
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Familiarity with DevSecOps tools: HashiCorp Vault, Veracode, Trivy, Syft
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence, MS Teams
Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to bridge gaps between teams
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Programming experience in Python, Java, or C#
Experience with Azure
Familiarity with Cloudflare and ELK stack components
Familiarity with databases and messaging systems: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka (Confluent), Solace PubSub+
