Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
  • 1 year of experience with state of the art GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).
  • Work or educational experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design and end-to-end execution of long-term projects to advance Gemini Audio capabilities horizontally and scale foundational data infrastructure in a high-impact manner. 
  • Architect and conduct complex experiments by optimizing high-throughput data pipelines and loaders, managing Gemini model training and evaluation cycles, and delivering data-driven insights to inform technical strategy.
  • Drive the integration of high-impact data enhancements into Gemini’s pre-training and post-training mixtures, ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality data to improve model performance and capabilities.
  • Deliver mission-critical initiatives with agility, effectively navigating evolving requirements and time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining high standards of technical excellence and project momentum.
