The Good Friday Appeal is seeking a dedicated and commercially-minded Finance Manager to oversee our financial functions and safeguard the resources that support The Royal Children's Hospital.
This is a unique opportunity to use your professional skills to support a legendary Victorian institution. You will work within a collaborative, innovative culture where your contribution directly impacts the lives of children and their families.
About the role:
As the Finance Manager, you will be the backbone of our financial integrity, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and full compliance. You will provide critical commercial insights to the Finance Committee and Executive Director to drive the success of the Appeal.
Part-time (3 days per week).
Capacity to increase to 4 days per week during the peak Appeal period (3 months).
We offer genuine flexibility, whether it’s three full days or school hours spread over five days.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budget and re-forecast cycles, manage statutory taxation (BAS), and oversee annual audits and ACNC documentation.
Provide timely, insightful financial analysis and monthly/quarterly Board reports to influence business performance.
Maintain and continuously improve our finance systems (Xero, Salesforce, and G Suite) to enhance reporting efficiency.
Manage raffle permits, insurances, and merchandise processing, while supporting the team with EFTPOS rollouts and online raffle setups during peak periods.
Manage and support an Administration Assistant and collaborate across the broader News Corp finance team.
Who are you?
You are a highly organized finance professional with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
Tertiary degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
5+ years in a finance role.
High proficiency in Xero is essential. Experience with Salesforce NFP and platforms like Funraisin is highly regarded.
High-level skills in financial management, project management, and technology systems.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with volunteers, partners (NAB, Stripe), and internal stakeholders.
