SENIOR QA ENGINEER (M/F)

Aircash

Posted 5 days ago

We're growing fast and pushing boundaries across the EU. What began as a local Croatian idea has evolved into one of the leading European fintech platforms that brings a wide range of financial services to millions of users. Driven by innovation and a clear vision, we keep expanding into new markets, building new features, and proving that great ideas can travel far. From everyday payments and money transfers to Aircash Mastercard, we make managing money easy, wherever life takes you.

We're not just a fintech. We're a team that mixes serious tech with just the right amount of fun. The ones who challenge complexity and find smarter ways to get things done.

Different backgrounds, one shared goal: make everyday payments faster and more effortless.

No forms, no nonsense. Just freedom at your fingertips.

In Aircash, QA isn't the last line of defense. It's part of how the product gets built.

Aircash is a Principal Mastercard Issuer. Our cards are live at 200,000+ points of sale across Europe, and we're active in 10+ markets with serious traction in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Romania. Behind every tap, transfer, and top-up is a stack we've built ourselves – mobile app, backend services, payment integrations, and the infrastructure that makes them all play nicely under real-world load.

That's the world a Senior QA Engineer steps into. We're looking for someone who treats automation as a craft, who reads a payment flow and immediately sees the edge cases worth catching, and who owns the framework that keeps everything honest.

What you'll own.

You'll build and maintain our test automation framework – primarily mobile (iOS/Android) using Appium, with Python as your core language. You'll author the suites, debug the flaky ones, stabilize what's worth stabilizing, and decide what's worth automating in the first place. You'll integrate everything into our CI/CD pipelines so quality isn't a bottleneck — it's a constant signal.

API testing is your home turf. You'll design end-to-end coverage for our backend services with Postman, validate data behavior with SQL, and use HTTP intercepting proxies (Burp Suite, Charles, Proxyman) to dig into the layer between client and server. You'll own E2E coordination across mobile ↔ backend flows – orchestrating the suites that prove a payment actually works from tap to settlement, not just at each layer in isolation. You'll lean on New Relic to validate backend behavior, correlate test signals with real telemetry, and catch issues that only show up under load. In a fintech, that layer is where it matters most.

Your turn.

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years in QA, with meaningful time owning test automation end-to-end
  • Strong manual and exploratory testing experience – you know what to poke, in what order, and why
  • Hands-on with Appium for iOS and Android, building suites, not just running them
  • Strong Python for test automation; clean, maintainable code is the standard, not the goal
  • Deep API testing fluency — Postman is second nature, and you've designed coverage for non-trivial backend services
  • Comfortable with Burp Suite (or similar) for security-aware testing of APIs and auth flows — Burp is our primary tool here
  • Solid with HTTP intercepting proxies (Charles, Proxyman, or equivalent) for debugging the in-between
  • Proficient in SQL for data validation and backend verification
  • Comfortable with New Relic (or a similar observability tool) for tracing backend behavior and digging into production-like signals
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate automated tests so they actually get used
  • Comfortable using AI-powered tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to support test scenario preparation, test script generation, and QA workflow
  • Openness to exploring and adopting new AI-assisted testing approaches as the landscape evolves

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with pytest or a similar Python test framework – we reach for it where it fits
  • Playwright experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated, high-stakes domain is a meaningful advantage
  • You read code well enough to suggest fixes, not just file tickets
  • You think about testability at design time – not after the PR is open

What we bring to the table.

Innovation drives us, and we never stop asking "what's next?".

And because great work deserves great perks, here's what you can expect from day one:

  • Growth isn't a buzzword here. You'll have access to real learning opportunities, both inside and outside the company
  • Open feedback is part of our culture; we grow by listening, learning and sharing with each other
  • Tasty, freshly prepared lunches every day, with options to suit different tastes and preferences
  • Start your day off right — coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and snacks are waiting for you every morning in the kitchen
  • Annual health check-ups to help you take care of your health without extra hassle
  • A fully covered Multisport card and sports activities like padel to make staying active easy and enjoyable
  • Christmas and Easter bonuses that bring a little extra ease to the holiday season
  • For parents, extra support and time off for those milestone moments — from baby bonuses to the first days of kindergarten or school
  • Extra vacation days to give you more time to unwind, recharge and do what you enjoy most

Step into a role where your ideas make an impact, your work has meaning, and every day brings something new to build or improve.
