We are looking for a highly qualified Insurance Lawyer to join our legal team in Montreuil or Paris, France. As part of this position, you will work on a French and international scope.

As an insurance lawyer, you play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support on insurance-related matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting the interests of our organisation.

You will participate in the following missions:

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policies, contracts and related legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on insurance claims and coverage disputes.
  • Draft and review insurance agreements, policies and regulatory documents.
  • Conduct legal research on complex insurance issues and emerging trends in the industry.
  • Collaborate with internal services to assess and mitigate legal risks.
  • Carry out contractual reviews of insurance clauses in commercial contracts.
  • Keep abreast of changes in insurance laws and regulations, to ensure the organization's compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on insurance law for staff members.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the company's insurance policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Your background? 

  • Master of Laws, with a specialization in insurance law preferred
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in insurance law, demonstrated in an international context

Your strengths? 

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance law, regulation and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of construction law would be a valuable plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
  • Fluent command of French and English, written and oral (negotiation and training to be carried out in the 2 languages). 
  • Solid understanding of the principles of risk assessment and management in a group environment (different business lines and territories).
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law and the interpretation of insurance policies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an ever-changing environment.
  • Experience in an international context is highly desired.
