Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our cost team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to develop their quantity surveying expertise within a dynamic construction environment. The successful candidate will support the senior quantity surveying team in delivering accurate cost management and financial control across our project portfolio.
- Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and specification schedules • Monitor and report on project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
- Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation in accordance with organisational standards • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients to gather cost-related information and clarifications • Support the cost team in contract administration and procurement activities
- Utilise cost management software to input, track, and analyse project financial data • Conduct site visits to verify quantities and assess project progress against cost plans • Assist in the preparation of cost reports and presentations for project stakeholders • Contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes and procedures • Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
**Required Skills & Experience:**
- 2–3 years' experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or related construction roles • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and methodologies • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost planning techniques • Competency with cost management software (e.g., Elecosoft, Causeway, or similar platforms)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and tender processes • Excellent numerical accuracy and analytical capability • Strong organisational and time-keeping skills • Effective communication and people skills • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment **Desirable Skills & Experience:**
