About the role
The Automation Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in one or more specialties, widely applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to support cross-functional projects and operational goals. This role focuses on proposing, designing, prioritizing, and conducting technical experiments and projects while implementing continuous improvements. The purpose of this role is to solve complex engineering and operational problems, teach and train other team members, and drive technical developments aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
This is a professional, permanent on-site role located at our facility. The core responsibilities include:
Propose, design, prioritize, conduct, and oversee technical experiments and automation projects for the site.
Develop new test methods, design statistical sets of experiments, and oversee operational controls within your area of technical expertise.
Generate new ideas for processes and technical solutions to drive continuous improvements in growth, cost reduction, yield, product quality, and capacity.
Document project plans, determine timelines and required resources, and present findings and technical recommendations to cross-functional leaders.
Teach, coach, and train other team members in given areas of expertise while remaining current on emerging technologies, applications, and industry patents.
Qualifications
Required
Proven experience in a technical specialization, process engineering, controls engineering, or project engineering environment.
Knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell, PLC and SCADA systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
Strong technical background with deep knowledge of automation, technical principles, and engineering concepts.
Demonstrated tracking of data findings, technical proof of concepts, and writing structured technical plans or reports.
