We offer a state-of-the-art iGaming platform, turnkey solutions, and standalone products that allow operators to enter or expand into emerging markets quickly and easily.

WA Platform is a fully scalable and customizable solution, featuring over 75+ game providers, 15.000+ games, and multi-currency support with 80+ payment methods. WA Technology enables operators to build their own Casino, Sportsbook, Lottery and Fantasy business precisely how they envision it. We have offices across Europe and Latin America, supporting our clients with on-the-ground presence and regional expertise.

Where and how we work?

We currently have teams based in Malta, Lisbon (PT), Sofia (BG), London (UK) and Bucharest (RO). Our hybrid work model encourages regular in-person collaboration while also allowing flexibility to work remotely.

Long story short, you will

you will play a key role in designing, building, and continuously improving the backend systems that power our platform, with a particular focus on our CMS. You'll develop scalable, high-performance solutions, contribute to technical decision-making, and help ensure the reliability, stability, and maintainability of our products.

Working closely with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders, you'll help drive technical excellence, optimise system performance, and deliver robust backend services that support both operational needs and business growth. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment while solving complex technical challenges at scale.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, specifications, and system designs.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications and services with a focus on long-term reliability and extensibility.

• Establish and promote coding standards, best practices, and clean, well-documented code across the team.

• Evaluate and drive the adoption of backend architectures, frameworks, and technologies that support platform growth and stability.

• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integrations, ensuring reliable communication between internal and external systems.

• Drive code quality through testing, debugging, performance optimization, and code reviews.

• Lead technical discussions and contribute to knowledge sharing to continuously raise engineering standards.

• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production support practices.

• Identify and implement improvements that enhance system performance, maintainability, and developer productivity.

• Stay current with modern backend technologies and champion relevant innovations, including AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and OpenAI Codex.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise :

• Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) — from greenfield builds and content architecture design through to platform migrations and re-platforming onto modern, scalable solutions.

• 7+ years of experience as a Node.js developer, with a strong understanding of OOP principles and demonstrated experience owning complex backend systems end-to-end.

• Expert in Node.js and modern backend development practices, including system design considerations for high-availability and high-throughput environments.

• Hands-on experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks.

• Experience designing and delivering REST APIs, microservices architectures, and integrations with frontend or backoffice interfaces.

• Experience using AI development assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, etc.) in software delivery workflows.

• Strong practical experience with databases such as SQL, MongoDB, or Redis.

• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

• Advanced understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and API performance patterns.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex, cross-system issues.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable taking ownership and driving outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the iGaming industry

• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure)

• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with PHP (Symfony)
