Job Description
The role operates as a key member of our Managed Services team, assisting with the design and provisioning of Azure infrastructure for our customers’ cloud workloads including Data Analytics platforms and providing DevOps support during solution delivery and on into production operation.
This is a customer facing position. You will be working with our customers daily.
You’ll be working, collaborating and socialising with your colleagues across all four offices. There will be a need to occasionally work outside of the normal office hours, but this can be remotely (from your home).
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Data Engineer - Managed Services you will be expected to do the following:
- Architect & provision Azure infrastructures for a variety of workloads including data analytics platforms
- Deploy and maintain Azure DevOps for Azure platform delivery and production support
- Understand new Azure technology developments and develop the application of these to our customers’ scenarios.
- Influence the architecture of solutions such that they are supportable, including input into delivery frameworks and processes
- Ensure that technical knowledge is transferred and retained
- Act as a technical point of escalation for the Managed Service we deliver to our clients
- Collaborate on the definition and on-going improvement of internal processes;
- Mentor the wider Managed Service team
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Good Hands on Experience on Azure Cloud or any of the following: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, SQL Server, Databricks.
- Demonstrable understanding of SQL; querying
- Experience with Python/Pyspark
- Enterprise level cloud & infrastructure practices and an interest in application delivery
- An attention to detail and a focus on continual improvement
- Problem solving
- Ability to identify opportunities and issues
- Strong written and spoken English
- Interpersonal skills
- Experience of most of the following (but not limited to):
- Microsoft Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Azure Landing Zones, Hub/Spoke Networks, ARM Templates, Azure DevOps including Pipelines and Repos.
