Job Description
What You Get To Do:
The DSP (caregiver) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.
The live-in model allows for structure in a client's home environment. Our Live-in model is a 7 day on/7 day off schedule. You will be required to live in the individuals' home-on location and will be paid 16 hours a day (minus any unpaid break time). Live-in DSPs work approximately two weeks per month and earn full-time pay plus overtime! Bi-weekly compensation will be for 105 hours (25 hours of which are paid at a rate of time and a half). You will also be paid for any interrupted sleep time, if applicable. Live-in DSPs are also provided with a weekly food budget during your week on. You will receive one 7-hour break during your scheduled shift.
**All off time must be spent off location - the individual’s home cannot be your primary residence**
- Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Valid US. Driver's License
- Ability to live in the home for 7 days
- Ability to leave the home for 7 days
- Be 18+ Years Old
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of caregiving experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities highly preferred
- Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members
