Drive procurement cost competitiveness by conducting detailed supplier cost reviews, benchmarking market pricing, and supporting negotiation strategies that deliver measurable savings. Contribute to supplier engagement, second‑source development, and compliance readiness while ensuring continuity of supply through accurate purchase execution and operational support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- NPI Sourcing & Risk Management: Partnering with Hardware Engineering to ensure supply chain readiness and mitigate component obsolescence/single-source risks.
- Cost Optimisation & Analysis: Leading quote reviews, benchmarking pricing, and building cost models to drive savings and negotiation strategies.
- Supplier Qualification & Engagement: Onboarding second-source vendors and managing daily supplier communications with a focus on cost transparency.
- Data, Systems & Reporting: Maintaining accurate ERP/P2P procurement records and reporting cost-reduction achievements for business reviews.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Finance to align purchasing execution with demand forecasts.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensuring all purchase orders and contracts adhere to company policies, ASX200 obligations, and FIFA certifications.
- Operational Purchasing: Executing purchase orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and managing the RMA process efficiently.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of procurement experience with a focus on cost analysis, supplier benchmarking, and sourcing execution.
- Hands-on ERP/P2P system use (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite), with emphasis on cost tracking and reporting functionality.
- Advanced analytical skills: Ability to build and interpret cost models, analyze supplier data, and identify savings opportunities.
- Strong communication skills: Capable of managing supplier relationships, challenging cost assumptions, and collaborating across Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
- Detail orientation: Accuracy in purchase order execution, compliance tracking, and audit-ready documentation.
Preferred:
- Professional certification (CPSM, CIPS) in progress, ideally with modules in cost management or negotiation.
- Exposure to international suppliers and logistics, with experience in global cost benchmarking.
- Direct experience supporting cost negotiations, savings initiatives, or supplier risk assessments.
WHAT YOUR SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE
In 6 months:
- Fully proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems and procurement workflows, with emphasis on cost tracking and reporting functionality.
- Trusted to independently manage assigned suppliers, focusing on price transparency and cost benchmarking.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate cost analyses, savings reports, and supplier scorecards that highlight cost competitiveness.
- Identified at least one cost reduction opportunity and supported its implementation.
In 12 months:
- Contributed to onboarding at least one new supplier or second-source option that improved pricing leverage or reduced single-source cost exposure.
- Led successful cost negotiations with documented measurable savings against baseline spend.
- Established a reputation for cost-conscious decision-making, proactive risk escalation, and audit-ready compliance records.
- Played a visible role in achieving team savings targets while maintaining supplier relationship health.
