Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, service-oriented Bellhelp to join our hospitality team and deliver exceptional guest experiences. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for guests, providing prompt and courteous assistance with luggage handling, laundry/valet services, and general hotel information. The Bellhelp is expected to maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively, and demonstrate a strong commitment to guest satisfaction while supporting the Bell Desk and other departments as needed.
Duties:
- Retrieve, record, and deliver luggage and guest laundry/dry cleaning. Retrieval of laundry requires bending, stooping, and lifting bags of up to 30lbs. from guest rooms on a continual basis.
- Answer telephone calls and inquiries from guests regarding laundry/valet service and other hotel services and facilities. Research misplaced or misdirected guests’ laundry.
- Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
- Deliver morning newspapers, mail, packages, faxes, etc. to specific guest rooms upon request.
- Clean and polish carts and other equipment used in the department.
- Answer the Bell Desk phone and provide information and assistance as needed.
- Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to the Security Department.
- Assist the Bell Desk with FIT and group luggage.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting as Door Attendant whenever necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean Drivers Abstract and Hawaii Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates as well as guests.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage up to 50+ pounds.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of who require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
- Ability to read and write the English language to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks, to write numbers and names on claim checks and room lists.
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Preferred Experience
- Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred.

Salary:
$17.37 - $21.
