Agent Product Operations

Runbook

Runbook is building the AI workforce for the backbone of the physical economy. In today’s world, the companies that move, make, and deliver goods and services still run on a hidden layer of human busywork: endless emails, spreadsheets, phone calls, and clicking through complex software systems. We're building a product that replaces that layer with AI agents that actually do the work end-to-end: they run messy, multi-day workflows end to end, learn from every correction, and hit 90%+ autonomous execution in production. Our agents are currently running real operations for real customers today, from mid-market field services companies to large Fortune 500 enterprises.

The Team

Our founder and CEO Obaid Khan co-founded Motive and scaled it past $350M in revenue and a $5B+ valuation. We’re a tight-knit team with deep roots in tech and AI, including people who've built at companies like Meta, Amazon, Discord, Carta and Scale AI, but where you've worked matters far less to us than your motivation, problem solving and openness to learn. Whether you’re a new grad or seasoned operator, if you're excited to build at the frontier of AI then let’s chat!

The Role

You'll be a generalist on the post-sales Deployments team which trains agents with real-world, operational workflows with the goal to eventually automate the core work seamlessly. This is a customer-facing role: you're the person who gets our AI product working inside a real customer's business. You’ll learn how customer workflows get done, deploy our AI agents to handle it, and keep fine-tuning until it runs reliably on its own — turning something that looks good in a demo into something the customer can count on every day.

We are hiring Agent Product Ops Leads (new grads and early-career) and Senior Product Ops Leads (experienced hires). If you're early in your career but obviously exceptional, apply.

What you'll own

  • Make the complex simple. Real customer work is a tangle of emails, spreadsheets, document trails and legacy software. Your job is to figure out the requirements of exactly how that work actually gets done, then use AI tooling to turn it into one clean, reliable agent. You're the person who can hold a messy, real-world systems and processes in your head and engineer an agent that runs it

  • Be a trusted advisor to your customers. Build rapport with customers and get to know how their business really works, and design how our agents fit into their day. You become the person enterprise customers lean on as a strategic partner who helps shape how they operate, not just someone who answers their questions

  • Bring agents to autonomy. Decide the performance bar for an agent, then own getting it there. Whether the fix is sharper prompt engineering, a new skill.md file, a change to the process, or looping in engineering, you keep pushing until the agent runs on its own the vast majority of the time

  • Own it end to end. From the first pilot through going live in production with the customer, the work is yours to define. Every problem you solve feeds back into long-term product iterations, so each deployment makes the next one faster and better

What we're looking for

  • Sharp attention to detail, with the instinct to catch the one wrong assumption that quietly breaks five things downstream long before a customer ever notices, and the ability to master brand-new, unfamiliar domains at speed

  • Exceptional English communication and interpersonal skills, with the range to speak every customer's language and move seamlessly from leading a working session with an enterprise expert to debugging a problem shoulder-to-shoulder with our PMs and engineers

  • Relentless problem-solving, with the drive to attack hard, ambiguous problems and keep testing approaches until the workflow works, and holds, at a high bar for quality

  • High agency and a bias for action, with the instinct to make the call and fix what's broken rather than wait for permission, and the first-principles thinking and systems sense to do your sharpest work once you're settled in

  • Technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity, with the appetite to get your hands dirty in AI-assisted development and a real hunger to live in the modern AI stack and become a power user of world-class AI tooling

Even better…

  • Built things with AI that you’d be proud of talking about

  • Domain knowledge of operationally-intensive industries

  • Experience in a high-growth technology startup environment

  • An educational background in an analytical field (e.g. engineering, computer science, economics, business, finance)

How we work

  • Founder-level access. You'll work directly with the founding team and have a real seat at the table on product strategy. Genuine ownership, genuine influence.

  • Bias for action. We build, ship and iterate. We don't write novel-length planning docs.

  • Built on collaboration. We believe the best work happens with real-time feedback, shared momentum and a team that's truly in sync.
