Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable solutions: Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Deliver high-quality code: Implement applications following best practices in clean code, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Support modern deployment practices: Work closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications and integrate CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leverage event-driven architecture: Use events to build robust, asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.
  • Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.
  • Contribute to strong engineering standards: Engage in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and promote best practices.
  • Leverage AI code companions: Utilize hands-on AI code companions and intelligent development tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development cycles, and maintain code quality standards while staying current with modern development practices.
  • Mentor and grow the team: Experience guiding teams through mentoring, coaching, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and creating a safe, collaborative working environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software development
  • Good knowledge of Java 17 and the associated patterns (e.g. SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Best practices for code structure: Layered or ports & adapter architecture)
  • Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate and Web Services (REST)
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Oracle DB, GITLAB, Kubernetes or similar
  • Hands-on experience with Unit testing tools like: JUnit, JMeter, ArchUnit
    • Focus on Test driven development and best practices
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills (debugging, source control)
  • Strong communication and consulting skills, including client interaction, pre-sales support, solution design, estimations, and building trust.
  • Advanced English language skills
