Description of Work
This position supports the Eastern Region Talent Acquisition operations by processing recruitment and employment transactions for assigned requisitions in the State’s applicant tracking system and related HR systems. The role supports posting, applicant screening, candidate movement, referrals, offer and hire process steps, and routine recruitment documentation for assigned facilities or work units. Work is performed within established State HR policies, agency procedures, and recruitment process requirements, with routine system or process issues handled within established guidance and more complex matters escalated for review.Key Duties Include:
• Create, update, and maintain assigned job requisitions and job postings using approved position, classification, and recruitment information.
• Review applications to determine whether applicants meet established minimum education and experience requirements.
• Update applicant statuses, dispositions, referral steps, offer steps, hire steps, and related recruitment workflow actions.
• Refer qualified candidates to hiring managers in accordance with established recruitment procedures.
• Review and verify position, vacancy, organizational, and related HR system information needed to process assigned recruitment actions.
• Provide routine recruitment process support to hiring managers, applicants, facility staff, and regional HR staff.
• Identify missing information, routine workflow delays, data discrepancies, or transaction concerns and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Support hiring events, facility-based recruitment activities, and ad hoc process training by assisting with event flow, application steps, candidate movement, and system process support.

Salary Grade Range: $37,377 - $65,408

Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferably Workday, to perform recruitment transactions such as job posting creation, applicant screening, and candidate dispositioning
Demonstrated experience applying recruitment policies, procedures, and guidelines to determine applicant qualifications and ensure compliance
Proven experience troubleshooting workflow or system issues and resolving discrepancies within an HR system or business process
Documented background managing multiple recruitment actions simultaneously while providing timely, accurate, and customer-focused service

About The Division of Institutions:
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required
